Answered: Download link broken

I tried to download ZBrush 4 after registering (recieved my confirmation on 8/11) but the download button sends me a DNS error page “server not found”.

I contacted cleverbridge cs and got the standard apology email, but no resolution yet.

edit: I’ve just submitted a ticket to Pixologic customer service.

Good luck. I sent a ticket and also contacted Cleverbridge for the same problem and have been waiting since the 13th.

I don’t understand what is so difficult about providing a download link that works to anyone who is using the same email as when they purchase Zbrush and has successfully update the past couple of years. Almost seems they messed up their customer database?

Same thing here - just got an answer mail saying to keep trying and/or to use GetRight (which I actually don’t want to install just for this download).

So far no success - even with deactivated firewalls.

I just got a mail from cleverbridge with the advice to contact Pixologic support, as they - cleverbridge could not help me with technical difficulties of that kind.

I don’t really understand that reasoning, since it seems to be a cleverbridge server that is not working for me - anybody got an idea?

I tried the GetRight suggestion and still could not connect to the server (not found error). I also did a full repair on my OS instalation, full virus and malware scans, driver updates, etc., to be sure there was not an issue with my computer. Still could not find the Server when I hit the download button.

I ended up going to my local PC shop and having them download it for me and put it on a thumb drive. It still took them over 2 hours on a T3 connection with numerous server timeouts.

Customer Service did all they could to help (short of emailing me the program), I thank them for that.

I also tried both FireFox and IE, on 2 different computers on my network, and nothing helped.

The PC shop just typed in the url to the download page, and was able to get the initial connection for the download. The download stopped and restarted several times (they just had the basic download manager that came with IE) with long delays between a few packets. 240 MB shouldn’t take 2 hours on a T3.

Thank you very much - I filed a ticket at Pixologic support. If nothing helps I’ll have to order a backup CD, but don’t intend on doing that for every incremental update. Besides up to now, I never had that download problem with ZB.

Pixologic support cannot help with situations where the download link does not work.

[COLOR=White](Please keep in mind that your DOWNLOAD link is in the email with your serial number for ZBrush 4. It is not the same as your UPGRADE link, which only works once to create your ZBrush 4 account and get to where a download link has been created for you.)

It is the responsibility of Cleverbridge to deliver the software to you via that download link. The process is handled entirely by their servers and Pixologic has no control over them.

If you are getting an error when trying to use your download link, you will need to contact [email protected] for assistance. Their phone numbers are also on their website. Please be sure to include your cleverbridge reference number or serial number for ZBrush 4. If their representative attempts to send you back to Pixologic, ask to speak with a supervisor. Some of their reps are newer and don’t realize that Pixologic cannot help with delivery issues.

this is a catch 22 situation because cleverbridge in their 2nd response said they connot help me with such technical problems and I should contact Pixologic support, which I did and now you are telling me it is their responsability, which it probably is, but at least they are not admitting it - here is their last mail on the topic (in German):

Dear Aurick,

I tried the 2nd (renewed) download link for the 2nd day - which is today - and now it worked (in 2 minutes the download was complete - I didn’t even have to turn the firewalls off). Now the download was successful. I don’t know who changed what on the server, but it worked!! Thank you and best regards
