I received a pm this morning and was in the midst of answering it when I thought it might help other “new kids”.
The general question was why him,not me?
To begin with, to a lot of people on this forum, this is a hobby and not a source of income. So they can afford to be cavalier and uncaring in what they write.
To the others this forum is a sort of resume.
It would be great, if for a particular job the most talented person won. We know that is often not the case.
Often the people that do this type of work must work long hours with others under stressfull conditions.
If you are a potential long term employer looking over this forum,what do you look at besides the work. If you are seeing constant examples of arguments, debates, political infighting, would you hire that person for any type job.
Sometimes I forget that although it takes only a minute to post a smart ass remark,you have to live with it.
Keep this in mind above all else, you have no idea who looks at the material submitted here.
