Another sketchbook - Anatomy, sculpts and stuff

Hey guys

I’m always lurking around here and I decided I want to be more active and even open my own sketchbook
so I can share my work and get some feedback. so here we go

This is my last work, I didn’t have my computer for a few days so I worked on my laptop
and made the same tutorial I did a few years ago to see how far I come.
The tutorial is by Rafael Grassetti in 3DCreative Nov 2008.

This is a Minotaur I started before, I’m using the concept of Eric Yan, still have a lot of work on him.
I hope to finish him in the next two weeks or so.

Here is another skeleton anatomy study I started a few month ago.

Man, nice work! You certainly came a long way from that 2009 image. :+1:

I know its a wip, but some things about the skeleton bug me. I know its not nice to leave a crit without providing advice, but I’m no anatomy expert either lol.
I just know it looks off. The individual bones look good, but something about the overall piece seems unnatural. Maybe re-examine the size and shape of the rib cage, as well as
the shape of the collar bones. I think the top of the humerus and the shoulder blades are sitting too far in as well.

Hopefully someone else can give you better advice though.

I have a few points to make, although I’m far from an expert. (All on the skeleton)

Your skeleton’s arms are fully straight, giving it a weird stiff look.
Look how high your clavicle-end/acromion is from the humerus.
Examine the rib cage shape closely
The sternum might be too wide.

Your progress is great, keep going!

Thank you for the reply, you are right there a lot of things wrong in it, the rib cage is too wide
and there are a lot of things to change here and there to finish it.

and fix all your points.

Here is the progress of the Minotaur, I improve the anatomy a bit and started to add his armor.

Hey guys, here is a new update on the Minotaur, I fixed the hands and did a test with the fiber mesh, still
a lot of work, I need to do the hand armor and the hair still need more work…

Here is a new update, I started to do the pose, break symmetry and details.
I don’t really like the details on his forehead, looks too much like krang (TNMT) to me…
as for the pose it’s not finish yet, but for now I don’t really know how to continue.
Any advice is more than welcome.

right now I’m working on retopo. The design is by Aaron Sims.
