Another simple maya questions

Yepp, here i go again. So, ive imported a character from zbrush into maya. And well, i want to tweak it alittle, but is there any way that i can work with it like in zbrush? For example when i move a face on his right hand, the face on his left hands moves also?

Any 3D tool can enable X,Y or Z symmetry, or any combination of XYZ symmetry, through the Transform > Modifiers subpalette. That subpalette is only available when a 3D tool is selected. The shortcuts are x, y and z on the keyboard.

All symmetry axis are based on the current pivot point of the 3D tool. That pivot point will change through the use of Transform > S.Pivot (Set Pivot Point). As long as you remember to reset the pivot pointwith Transform > C.Pivot (Clear Pivot Point) you will not experience loss of symmetry.

To view the actual pivot point you can look at the Tool > Preview > Object Preview window. All Tool > Deformations act upon the current pivot point.

You should also be aware of the resymmetry options. Tool > Deformation > Smart ReSym will allow you to model just one half of a symmetrical model and then later transfer the modeling to the other side. It can also help clear up any loss of symmetry while modeling. It is best used by masking the ‘good’ half of the model and then applying Smart ReSym from subdivision level 1 and up.

The only silly questions are the ones not posted  But have you seen the ZBrush Classroom section of Pixologic.com? I think the quickstart guides answer most questions. Have fun.

I think you missunderstood me, i want the Transform > X to work in maya, not zbrush. So when i move something on one side, the other sides moves with it.

Questions about Maya usage should be posted in a Maya forum or answered by reading Maya’s manual or contacting their customer support. ZBrushCentral is a place to ask questions about ZBrush usage. (that’s why TVeyes misunderstood your question.)

Thanks.
