ZBrushCentral

Another New Guy

I have been following zbrush central for awhile now and I have to say thank you for just being here! You all have really inspired me. I only hope to one day live up to the honor of having my humble images posted along side some of the greats that have made this site a place to come to be inspired, amazed and simply left for a loss for words.

Here are just a few of my first images. I have been messing with ZBrush for a couple of weeks now, I’m a 3ds Max guy but ZBrush is really starting to find a home with me.

Anywho, so let me have it… African1.jpg

Okay, so I just wanted to post a couple more images. These are from my human anatomy studies that I have been working on. They both came from the same base mesh, very androgenous so it has been a little bit of a challenge trying to make them seem otherwise.

As you have seen by now I have yet to create eyeballs for my meshes, I am having a terrible time trying to figure out the subtools. How do I create 2 eyeballs and rotate them the same individually so the character doesn’t seem crossed eyed?:qu:

I’ve started a new project cause I just get so inspired hanging around this forum.

Still in the early stages…about 2 hours so far.
I’m having issues though, everytime I try and create a mesh with the ZSpheres and I get to the hands I get the same results as you see in the pictures. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or how to fix it.

Oh well…guess I figure it out soon enough.

Alright, I’m done with this guy. I just wanted to experiment with some techniques I’ve picked up here, but I still need more practice.
Oh well, on to another one.

A book that really helped me out with breaking down the body into simple shapes was George Bridgmans Complete Guide to Drawing From Life. Its 11 bucks at amazon or barnes and noble. It helped me a whole lot and its very easy to understand.

It doesnt go into the deep science behind the human anatomy its more triangles, squares and circles.

On this particular sculpt i would show some type of bone structure, especially around the elbows and knees.

Keep it up!!

Thanks for the response! I was beginning to think I was all alone here!
Yeah I know what your saying about the bone structure and I agree. I have alot of references I’m just still trying to get used to zbrush tools. There is so much to pick from but I haven’t really settled on what I like for particular things. For example, I love the move brush for blocking in the shapes, and after that I’m pretty much trial and error. The Clay and Claytubes are great but they don’t always respond the way I would like.
Lazy mouse is awesome.
Anywho, thanks again and on my next one I will make sure you see the bone structure.
Honestly I got lazy because I wanted to see how those alphas would look and I got carried away from there.
Good thing that came out of this project though is the importance of working in layers!

Started on another one. I feel as though I’m starting to figure out which tools I like best now. Still need to start working with subtools but hey, still learning is never a bad thing.
Anywho here’s the latest.
Haven’t gotten to the hands yet or the head.
Maybe 2 hours of work so far. MuscleFreak_1 .gif

Worked a little more on my male figure. Haven’t spent any time really on the hands or feet yet. Really would like to start playing around with extracting and start working on some cloth. Maybe soon…

longlee25,

I’m not sure what you are asking but I see that you are new here, so I’m going out on a limb here to say that what I think your asking about is the delay between your posting images and when they actually show up on the site.
If this is the case, the delay is because of the moderator making sure you are not posting vulgarity and anything offensive.
Hope that helps.
