It’s looking really good… I wish I could start to make some progress again…
The only thing I wondering about is his belly button (sp?). Is it too high? Or is the area below it too stretched? It might be totally ok, it just catched my eye… I haven’t opened a book about anatomy… yet
Nice work … got some cool muscles happening there. But there are some issues with proportions.
Bend your right forearm, so it’s at 90° to your upper arm. Now push your elbow into the side of your body and notice where the elbow comes compared to your hip and pelvis. Pretty near, isn’t it? Now put your left hand, palm down, on your right forearm, with the heel of your left hand tight against your right wrist. Notice how close your finger tips come to the inner crease in your elbow. Surprising, isn’t it? So, applying this info to your model you’ll see at once that his upper body/arm length ratios are quite a long way out, and his hands are about half the size they should be.
It’s very illuminating to try ‘body part’ comparisons like this … measuring one bit against another. It helps keep your models in proportion. Of course, if you’re hung like a donkey it’s probably best not use that part of your anatomy, or all the ratios will be miles out.
Hey Moochie,
2 more sentences and i ll look like a tie ,
you re right, the hands are way off in proportions though the forearms are a little bent.I ll correct that also, lot to learn about anatomy from this one.
I m a donkey when i sing  .
JayMan: u could be right man,i ll check that out
thanks for your time
one more update. refined some muscles and reworked the lower subd levels.Still needs work.
any c&c would be helpful ,thanks for viewing
The pectorials are a bit off. There’s a part of the pectorials that start at the interior end of the clavical (sternum) area that go to the crease where the pectorials connect to the humerus. The obliques are a good ways off too as well as where the deltoid and bicep come together. The bicep rolls under the deltoid as it wraps over it and attaches to the humerous to the lateral of the body. The quads on the legs look a bit ill defined and need some refining to look more correct and they look very “stumpy” and the hands still look small.
Here’s some links for help from one of the greats…
