Animation Master Plug in?

When on the chat the other night someone was talking about an Animation Master plugin for obj file formats. I apologize for not remembering who it was, but I was curious how you got it to work, Animation Master is not importing my obj files. I tried using dxf for importing and using Animation Master for posing different models, but it still wouldn’t import. Any help would be appreciated.

It could have been me that was talking about the OBJ plugin. I can send you the file when I get home on saturday and the one I have works great with Version 9.5. I know there is a new one for version 8.5 but I dont have that one so you will have to ask the list for that one.

Also the mesh from ZB should not be real dense so you should use adaptive skin with ZSpheres also the DXF Import for AM has not worked well in a long time I have asked Hash to fix this for awhile and they have not fixed it yet. The new OBJ import works great. PS the import export options is why I’m getting Massiah studio.

Hi Dave and Dave,

I spotted this link to an .obj import plugin on the AM forum at Renderosity. Arthur’s OBJ.hxt. I put it in my .hxt extensions folder but I couldn’t get it to work. I am an extreme newbie with AM and I would appreciate any tips you might have with importing. I would love to be able to animate a zsphere model in AM.

The object import/export plugin is only for PC at the moment. I would get “Animation Master 2002 A Complete Guide” by David Rogers, The best book on AM 9.0/9.5, goes into depth about modelling to animating, brilliant, should come as standard when you buy the software!

I agree, it should come with it. As for me, I still have v8.0, so I will have to wait a bit before posing my characters differently. Thanks for the help.

There is a new OBJ file that works with 8.x I dont have the link but I will try and find it.

Zoid what version are you using and are you using a PC or a mac? it works great for me. I know he put out a few updates of that importer/exporter.

Hey guys I just tried the OBJ import again and it worked great, here is a JPG of the file.

As you can see there are way to many splines to be usefull in AM thats why I would like the optimize function to be fixed ASAP. But I tried it with this model because it had a high poly count and this proves that the importer works.

Awesome, there’s hope for us yet. I am on a mac though with 9.5. It works great but as ususal we Mac users will have to wait longer for this stuff.
