Excellent start. I’d mostly say to keep going. Add a slight suggestion of ribs. There are usually some thick veins on parts of the legs. Overall sharpen some of the details like around the hooves. You might strengthen the triangular muscle directly behind the shoulder. I believe it’s the horse’s version of a lat. All very minor. Like I say I’d just keep refining a bit more. You’re 95% there and it’s the last 5% when it’s comes alive. I’d love to take on a horse when I have time. I’m planning to do a photoreal Rhino and Elephant when I have the time. I have clients that ask for them all the time but before ZBrush it wasn’t practical. With the next upgrade I can even do some nice poses since they still art clients.
nice start !
maybe the legs are too long, but if it is a young horse, I think it’s ok
this is an excellent base mesh, however i do think that it is lacking in detail (muscles, veins ect), try adding some mass on a lower subdiv and then detailing it all out on a higher one!
I agree the legs look slightly long but I think they are proportional. If he deepens the chest a bit it’ll have the same effect without changing the proportion. I’m into draft horses so I have to stop myself from suggesting he go for it musclewise. Definately a young horse. Somewhat Arabianlike.
Beautiful start.I agree with the above about minor adjustments.I think its gonna look amazing in the end.
Keep it up and send more updates:)
Great start and great base mesh too , waiting advances
I’m so so happy to hear the feedbacks, it sometimes hard for me to find out what’s wrong by myself.
I’ll definately keep adding on details and update.
I have a question for you guys,
What a good modeler shows in his demo reel? How many modelings at least? Does it need to show both organic and mechanical modeling?
I’m trying to make my reel and just came up with that question.
Thank you.
funny thing Im working on a horse myself…so I know my turn will come when it comes to C&C
I can’t help to notice how it’s posed
attached an image of a horse standing
as for for the anatomy goes…its looking pretty good
I like the look of your update, and frankly havent read 80% of the responses. but my gut reaction is the horse is too skinny based on the 3/4 shot. Its not wide enough in areas. My 2 cents
I hope this is helpfull. I gave a print of your first picture to my wife who is an experienced horse buyer. Some things you have allready done in your second rendering and may not still apply. Some things like the head depend on breed. She recomends these web sites:
equinestudies.org
http://nicholnl.wcp.muohio.edu/DingosBreakfastClub/BioMech/BioMechRide1.html
this site has lots of anatomical stuff.
