Andy Murdock getting into Z-brush

Andy Murdock is an animator that uses 3d studio Max. He created 20 minutes of his film exclusively on his own. you can see the movie at http://www.lotsofrobots.com.

Anyways, the point is that I participate in his forums, and have gotten him interested in Z-brush. That’s right, he’s tried the demo and seems hooked. Hahaha!!! I’ve converted one talented fellow.

Hopefully he won’t see this post by the time he realizes that there is a flourishing community here.

Cool animation. Thanks for the link:+1:
Keep on your predication about zb!!!

I think I’ve recommended his DVD here before – a second one’s since come out, which I haven’t had a chance to buy yet but am sure it’s similarly brilliant. Great renders, solid animation, and a slew of helpful tutorials which probably apply to users of more 3D animation packages than just Max. I know everyone can benefit from what he shows in terms of compositing, anyway…

Man, normal/displacement maps are going to push his work into new realms…

So you’ve seen it too. It’s 20 minutes long now. He has alot of odd techniques that imitate realism. He’s so good at particles and mapping them it’s not even funny.
