Overall, good job. Some nice weight distribution on the pose.
I do think your model looks a bit too heavy compared to Frazetta’s woman. The arms look too thin compared to how heavy you made the rest of the body.
Also, your model’s face looks more matronly, or older, and doesn’t look as sexy, petite, or as young as the face in the Frazetta image.

Really nice ! The ribcage angle is too open though (like on a man); it should be around 70-60 degres instead of 90

nice work. ya might want to watch an animated movie called fire and ice. i think its mostly all designs from frazetta including his famous barbarian. cheers:D

3dzeiro, Ahh Frazetta truly an inspiring artist, whether you think of him as a illustrator or a fine artist he definitely revolutionized and molded the fantasy genre.

I think you got a really stellar model, its shaping up nicely, be careful of over accentuating/defining the neck/clavicle area along with arms/legs. Though frazetta women were shown as being strong in some of his paintings they still definitely had a voluptuous soft side to them. Looking forward to seeing it progress. Keep working hard. <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/upload/atn.gif”>

Very nice ! I’d make her belly a little bit thinner though.

Dude this looks awesome… Great Model…

Frazetta is and always be an artist that cam be represented by any type of work
I like your model brother. GREAT inspiration.
Cheers

Zerio, I think you’ve picked quite a difficult challenge. Frazetta is all about line quality and paint handling. I doubt any sculpture could really do him justice.

Look at the forms of the jaw and cheeks in the painting. If you were to depict that in 3D it would be monstrous, but in the painting it looks great.

That is one gorgeous figure! I think you’ve improved the figure - yours is much stronger. Beautiful work! And with a mouse, too! Wow! :+1:

Nice work in the quads, kneecaps, popliteal (back of the knee) area.

!sorry for my English is not the best, but I’m trying! = D

This is amazing.

And what makes it amazing isn’t only the attention to detail but the fact that you, like Frazetta and even Vallejo (both my most modern favorites), did not succumb to the typical perfect body type.

Albeit Frazetta took pictures and sort of pasted them together before ultimately painting, drawing, etc his final images… he rarely took liberties with the muscular structure of the original models.

People are not perfect, period. And the lack of perfection is what brings so much realism to your piece.

Outstanding work. Keep it up and do what you do… not necessarily what others say.

Great job so far! Your forms are all there, though I think they are a bit too defined. I little smoother, add some fat, the hips look a bit ‘wide’. The hips/legs are important to Frazetta’s women, and I think you’re doing a great job, keep it up. A slight comment about LWAddict’s previous post, and I’ll quote from pg. 12 of Rough Work, Concept Art, Doodles, and Sketchbook Drawings by Frank Frazetta, about reference. “It’s too damn hard to swipe, that requires work, searching for just the right picture. A couple of times I used pictures I found in an articst-model magazine, a couple of times I referenced Howard Pyle or Hal Foster, but it was once in a blue moon. And if you’ve got to plan and set up a photo shoot, that kills the spontaneity and excitement and makes everything a drag. I just can’t work that way: everything has to go bang, bang, bang when I feel it. I used Ellie a few times because I wanted to get the lighting just right on a job; I’d look in the mirror if I wanted a certain expression or to see how an arm looked when twisted a certain way. A few times, mind you. It’s just more fun to make it up and if it’s not fun, I don’t want to bother.” True.

Your overall anatomy is techically good – but you’re missing all the Frazetta-esqu parts. The feminity, sexyness, playfullness, cuteness – all those things which make Frazetta’s work transcende mere muscles and bones isn’t in your sculpt at all. Sorry.

For whatever it’s worth to any other Frazetta fans here: I have met Frank Frazetta himself, four years ago. I was invited into his house (after having toured the wonderful FF museum right next door, which holds 90% of all his original art) by his wife Ellie and spent an enchanted 1.5 hours talking to him, right in his living room/studio! He’s an artist who’s work I have revered for more than 30 years, ever since I had posters of his Conan paintings in my teenager’s cave. Frank’s a Great Guy, too, very charming and likable. It was an unforgettable experience – talk about a Brush with Greatness!
