Anatomy Man, learning sculpt, Crits and advice welcome.

Hello people.

Its been a while since I had posted any of my work here as Iv been learining some anatomy, other applications in my spare time and still am. As you can see from my previouse trys on the human figure this is a improovent Im sure like many here I dont find drawing or sculpturing anatomy easy or natural, but im enjoying it, so its not a problem on the time scale its taking me.
In this peice iv spent a bit more time and effort to get things right but theres anways room for improovment from a on going learning process.

I used Hexagon to make a very basic base, then from there worked in Zbrush on and off when I had time. It was during this process that I learnt the importance of good topology which I didnt have, and how much I could do with having the next zbrush.

I brought The model into Poser 7 set up a few lights and used nothink more than preview to get the screen shots. I also used poser 7 and the preview render to make the short rotation demo. It shows different wire frame modes and a small timed morph target of him breathing. These are all test from poser
while learning it. Below is a small version of the animatioin, Il upload a hi res version soon.

Nice model…looking like quite buff guy. :+1: :+1:

you got serious anatomy issues with the arms, its shorter than it should be.
if you only had z3 you could use the transpose feature…

Hello warpy, I can easly lengthen the arms without the transpose feature in hexagon. The arms where actualy too long at one point as the hands should be in line with the groin. It wasnt untill I riged him in poser that I saw they where to long where by his mid forarms where in line with the groin. Maybe ist somthink els giving this look?

Where I would realy like to use ZB3 is making a new topology, mesh project my detail over and carry on working on him.

Heres a screen shot within zbrush. For a test I pulled his lats in so his body width was thinner to alow his arms to look looker longer athough they are not.

Tez,

Good work, I think the overall sculpt is looking good and you should be happy. The arms yeah well have a longer forearm portion than the upper arm length. I think they are relatively the same in size, forearm length maybe a tad longer. Also the ear placement might be a bit too low but its hard to tell without seeing blown up images of the head in various positions. I like it though it has some really good things going on with your sculpt. Keep it up! :+1: :+1:

AngelJ Thanks for your reply and observations. If you download the animation your see the full 360 view of it. I think alot of people missed the link maybe?

Yes the forarms are out in more than length ways ,and am on that today, I need to wrap the muscle around the forarm better and relax the pose a tad more. As for the head well to be honnest the ears are not very good at all. I so much want to re-topology this model so I can add the correct edge loops.

This was one of these projects that came out of playing, before long I have got some good shape going untill I wished I had stoped and done a new base mesh. (Mesh Projection, give me mesh projection  )

Things like ear placment I can fix so thats good.
