Anatomy book recommendations?

Hi

is anybody able to recommend a good book on anatomy to help me learn and practice? (mainly for sculpting but for drawing also).

Are there any ‘must have’ books out there there?

thanks for your help
Nick

There’s Anatomy for Sculptors, it seems to be well regarded and is specifically designed for digital work.

Website here: Anatomy For Sculptors: Understanding the Human Figure | Paperback

If you want to see a quick review there’s one by Grant Abbitt here: Anatomy for Sculptors - Reference Book Review - YouTube

Paperback, Hardback and PDF versions can be ordered from the link I originally post to the books website, says it ships to the UK too.

I actually bought a cheap french copy (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lanatomie-sculpteurs-character-illustrateurs-animateurs/dp/2212675321) a while back which has been fine for my needs as it’s really 95% reference images, but it depends what exactly you want from it. Was about £25 when I bought it, I think.

So definitely a good few options still.

This is an incredible installation that reminded me of the universe of “Dark Soul” and these titans look very realistic. I know that such scenery was used in the modernized play https://freebooksummary.com/category/an-enemy-of-the-people “Enemy of the People”. I was surprised by the installation with a book that opens up. Each page is a new chapter in the story, and it makes the reader keep learning. It’s a good show idea.

Thanks a lot
And I use a printed book and unfortunately, it’s in on the Russian language, but if you don’t read it but study the technique by the pictures - you can try it. And I thought about sharing the link to this resource https://eduzaurus.com/free-essay-samples/ because there I found an article on anatomy for artists. But your link will be more interesting. And for the printed book, I will still say the name of the author Nikolay Li. It is possible to find it in free access.
I inherited it from my sister, and she is a cool painter.

Thank you so much for these recommendations! I read a lot of fiction right now, I especially like reading ancient Greek or Roman literature. On the site I found useful content about Oedipus, the history of this story, its writing and the impact on the subsequent literary paradigm of the world.
