Anatomical foot model (including .ztl)

Hi everyone,

This is a project that's been on the go in some form or other for quite a while. It started as a zbrush sketch I did in my spare time, and then I did the ecorce at work, as a pitch for a project which never came to fruition. Since then it's just of sat around doing nothing, so I thought I'd let it see the light of day with a render. Everything except the veins (which started life as nurbs) and the render was done in zbrush. I've uploaded the .ztl tool aswell, which you can get [here](http://www.3dframework.com/Resources/showreel/TheFoot/foot_Anatomy.rar). I find the foot such a mind numbingly complex part of the body to get my head round, so hopefully that might help some other people get to grips with it a bit. Technically property of 3DFramework though, so don't use it for commercial work. And don't put it on your reel either :) The foot itself was a study from a cast that I have. I'm guessing from a greek or roman sculpture, but if anyone recognises it, please let me know, I'd love to know where it came from. I can't guarantee the accuracy of the underlying anatomy (the veins for example, I found were represented quite differently in different anatomy books, so I winged it a bit), or that I've made the correct interpretation of what is causing each of the surface bumps and details. So bear that in mind, and don't use it as a guide if you're a doctor :) Happy New Year everyone, hope you have a good and productive one.

If you like your feet big and detailed, then full size image (about 4k) is here

great study! and thanks for the tool too

really impressive work man, I love the lighting and render (and the sculpting of course).

Thanks a lot for share the Ztool

That is really great work!!
I’ll keep your data and I think I want it helpful to study.
Thanks for your kindness!!

Nice work, and very nice presentation.

impressive is the right word

Incredible work! I agree about the foot being hard to understand. I’m looking forward to playing with the ztl.

Wow great stuff, lots of work there:+1:

You could sell that to shoe manufacturers.

Very Nice job on the foot! Thank you for sharing your work and the actual Ztool, very generous of you. Keep up the great work.

Wow, I love how detail and correct you managed to make it, impressive :+1:

great job and thanks for sharing the tool.

I love this - pretty awesome!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Wasn’t sure how interested anyone would be in a foot

Joel - I’m a fan dude, and I know a fellow anatomy geek when I see one! Let me know if you see anything off with it.

I did an animated overlay so that I have something for my reel, and now that I’ve done it, it actually seems a much clearer way of presenting it than the still image, so here you go -

Wow! This is great! Great presentation and sculpt! Ultimate thank you for sharing the .ztl! :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: from me!
When I saw the images, the first sculpt that came to mind was the Disc Thrower Practise(See attach) but alas… you sculpted a right foot… .

Great work mate 5 stars

Wonderful work and thank you very much for the ztool, nice study piece

Thanks guys

Etcher - I’m a big fan of your anatomy stuff man, keep it up. Thanks for the discus practice sculpture link, you’re right it’s so close but not quite it. I’ve not seen that sculpture before though, and I can’t find it via google, everything takes me Myron’s discus thrower. Any idea where the sculpture is, and where I can find out more about it?

Realy amazing, wow! Thanks for sharing and giving me more respect for my feet. Sooo much inside, incredible…
Full 5*

I’ve got acces to a 1/1 plaster cast of the sculpt at work, tried find out where the original is and who made it, but ; no luck… same with google; only brings up Myron’s. I have the same problem with a Dante bust I copied; can google up 20 different versions… never the one I used as a ref. . Anyways, I’ll let you know when I have more info on it!

ps: aren’t we supposed to know this stuff… what went wrong with our art education…
