AMD RYZEN 7950X performance

Hi all.

I’m just curious if someone that uses a RYZEN 7950X with 128 GB DDR 5 RAM or something closer to it can make a perfomance benchmark with poly count and vertex painting, or at least talk abouth the good and bad in this kind of system, considering most people will prefer THREADRIPPER series.

I’m thinking in get a new computer since my 3900x do no perform well with 3D apps such as ZBrush with 32 GB of DDR 4 RAM and I’m not seing any benefit in upgrade to 128 GB DDR 4, so I’m thinking in get a 7950X because it’s cheaper than a 24 core THREADRIPPER 5000 series that supports only DDR 4 and THREADRIPPER 7000 series will take a while.

But at same time I’m not sure if a new PC will solve the problem.

My original idea is:
RYZEN 7950X or 7950X 3D
128 GB DDR5
RX 7900 XTX 24 GB (alread have this one)
2 NVME PCIE 5 RAID 0
2 or 3 SSD software RAID 0 (windows disk manager distributed writing / loading)
A motherboard that can support everything.

I have a AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor, and 64 gigs of Ram, and with HD geometry I can get up to around 402.650 million points from a simple Qcube that started with 26 points in zbrush. Its pretty amazing how zbrush can get those results.

I think your new system your thinking about should be able to do just about anything in zbrush, the ram is a big factor in high high you can sub divide a mesh.

And when I lost the hope for a awser you save my day.

Thank you very much for the reply and for the subdiv info, now I can do some bencharmks and see how much I can improve my workflow with a RAM upgrade in my current system or with a new computer.
