amazing new tool for tileable textures and more

just discovered this:

texturemaker

it’s an awsome tool to do everything texture-related, making tiles, generating procedurals, mixing, processing, baking and shading … simply fascinating.

a real bargain at about 70 EUR (and no, i don’t get any money for this, this is by no means a paid advertisement or something  )

here’s a very simply, quick and dirty test that includes ZBrush:

labels are in german, i’m afraid, but here’s the process:
i modeled a very simplistic plane-thing in Z, added a few bumps in projection mode, grabbed the canvas to obtain the depth information (looking straight ‘down’ on the plane) and shoved the grabbed alpha into texturemaker …
loaded 3 more or less random dirt textures and merged them via TM’s mixer into a composite texture, using the alpha/depth as ‘heightmap’ … shoved the result into TM’s shader which works a bit like photoshops ‘lighting’ filter, thus adding depth and baking shadows (!!!) into my mixed new texture …
then sent the result back into ZBrush and remapped it to my deformed plane - hit best render with shadows and the result can be seen on the rightmost part of the above sample.

mind you, this was a very simplistic test …
isuppose you guessed by now that i’m really amazed and convinced  (bought the program right away) … in brief: if you feel like you need a good texture tool, take a look, the feature overview on their site showcases most of the funky features, an almost unlimited demo is available too (stamps demo in one corner of generated images.

sorry for this kinda lengthy ‘fanboy’ post, an explanation might be, that i was looking for a tool like this for ages now

Sure, but quasi all that you describe can be easily to made in Zbrush
For example for tilling texture
No more simple
Draw anything you want, and move the “screen” with the “~” (depending of the country (in french keyboard that is the Key %)
And continue to make your texture
At the end you have a somptuous texture tileable
etc…
Have happy texturing !

Hi!

If you look in the Script section of the texturemaster forums you will see a bunch bu Captain Howdy…

THATS ME

Texture maker is an AWESOME tool! it is a Complement to any 3d application including Zbrush…

It dose quite a few thing Zbrush cant…

Like the Textractor tool for adjusting Photo textures… Isample is a Macrofeature resampler Great for making organic textures Tileable…

There is a way to test out your materials in the Advanced shader editor…

There are LOTS of things texturemaker dose that comes in handy to any 3d artist…

I suggest this tool to anybody

I bought this software product 5 years ago… I am still included in all updates  best 60$ I ever spent!

Also Texture maker is made by One person , he is a pretty cool guy named Tobias…

I have requested a bunch of features and improvements, and he has implemented them in the next version…

Tobias has the best tech support of any software product also… He answers EVERY question, no matter How stupid or how many times he has answered the same question… I like it Even if he just tells me to RTFM, atleat I got a response, and I know to check the manual a little mode deeply… Most software products only answer unique questions, if the even answer them at all… most software companies are RUDE and leave questions from their registered licenced users un-answered… leaving the user wondeing if he stumped the tech support, or if the user wonders if the question is just too stupid to answer…

Tobias is an amazing 1 man team… His product is a VERY good one!!!

If you make seamless textures for ANYTHING, try this product…

Sure it is possible to make seamless textures in Zbrush… for that matter it is possible to make seamless textures in MS paint if you realy think about it… it is much easyer to do in Texturemaker…

Texturemaker is a very fast way to make materials… there is NO other tool like it. the tech support is top notch… and you are intitled to updates…

best 60$ I ever spent (it might cost more now)

Bravo for Tobias Reichert, seems a cool guy

Ps And a new forum to explore

Looks cool! no Mac version though :frowning:

polaris > hehe, i browsed the TM forum a little by now and stumbled upon your ‘new computer, new ISP, but it’s really me’ post  and that new ‘polaris’ nick sounded familiar from somewhere …

glad i’m not the only being totally amazed by TM, i spent all day exploring these gazillions of tools and stuff and can only second what you said, exactly the texture tool i always wanted, and then some …

i’ll post some ‘production’ stuff of our ongoing project to the TM forum soon (and here, as far as ZB is involved) … both programs really saved our butt on that tight schedule job

i was seriously impressed when i found out about ZBrush’s shift/warp layer feature (even tho you need 3 hands to press that key combo on german keyboards - now with TM you can take such ZB generated txtures a few steps farther and even preview them in 3d with auto-mipmaps, geeee
