Alt-Lock Zlauncher problem after save interface "Ctrl-Shift-I"

Can anyone help me to escape from my tendancy to activate the alt-lock ‘feature’ that plagues my activities in Zbrush and particularly afflicts my use of Zlauncher.

In particular, is there a way to deactivate it?

It can be reproduced on my system by first pressing ctrl-shift and I to save the user interface, after doing this click on the Zlauncher button(s)

Hitting caps-lock seemed to get me out of it, but I do still wonder whether it can’t be disabled entirely.

I don’t understand what you mean by “Alt-lock”.

The ALT-Lock problem that I’m referring to is characterised by the alt key seeming to be continually pressed down. Its similar to the ctrl-lock that can be achieved by pressing alt-ctrl in the zlauncher window (I did some experimenting).

<strike>I do not know yet what actions I perform to bring about the problem or even whether it can be attributed to zbrush. I’ll try and spot the cause next time it happens</strike>

see post #1 to replicate alt-lock

sadly caps-lock does not always result in escape from the alt-lock

No, I don’t think it’s zbrush related. I experience that sometimes with the ctrl and win key when not working in zbrush. I simply go on tapping the key in question to resolve it.

I used to get that with the right mouse button as well (in win98), clicking with the left mouse button would bring the context menu up.

I’ve never had the alt lock, but I have had ctrl lock. I just hit the key once and it clears it up.

BTW, I have only noticed this in ZBrush.

I have found that sometimes when there appears to be a key lock, it’s related to rectangle/masking selection. Usually, I just have to drag a rectangle on the canvas (alpha selection) and that clears it up, otherwise I can’t select any tools or click any modifiers.

It is however a freak occurence for me, I have not been able to reproduce such instances. This is the only frame in my mind that I am familiar with relative to an Alt-lock.
