Projection Master works better for curved surfaces when you have them UV’d and morphed before using it. It’s an older method though, and has since been made faster / simpler by Surface Noise (use UV Master first if you don’t have UVs). You can load your alpha there, have it set to use the UVs, and use a mask to isolate which areas of the mesh it will wrap around.

Thank you for the response!

Can you give me a quick break down on how to wrap an alpha around a curved surface once the model has applied uv’s…

Thanks again!

  1. Tool: Surface: Noise to launch Noise Maker
  2. In the top-right corner of the Noisemaker window, there’s an unpressed button for using UVs. Enable that
  3. In the bottom-right corner of the Noisemaker window, there’s a button that says “Alpha On / Off”. Clicking that will launch a file browser where you can select your alpha.
  4. You can then play around with the scale and strength settings
  5. Accept Noisemaker to return to zbrush. You can then mask out where you dont want the noise to appear, and apply the results to your mesh.

Thanks for your help! I really appreciate the info.
