Alpha Masking Problem: UV Seams

Hi, I’ve just spent a couple of hours searching ZB Central for an answer to my question/problem concerning UV seams that show up when I create a “Mask from Alpha” and could not find anything, so I decided to make a thread.
Please forgive me if this topic has been posted.
Here is a picture of the problem.

I have tried everything that my limited knowledge about Masking from an Alpha will allow and I’m stumped.
Of course it’s not hard to see the benefits of being able to save Masks.

I could just “un-mask” the seams but this would result in imperfect Masks and that would reduce the quality of the scultpture.
I’ve tried AUV, GUV and I brought a version that I had unwrapped in Maya Which also produced seams.

Well, any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Help,…please…

i think that it’s a bug in zb3 ,in zb2, it’s not a problem.

You can solve it with two methods:
1.you can use a macro(i make it). Before it can be used, make sure that you have already set the UV, and the model has drawn mask.

2.You can convert the mask to a Group ----[font=‘Calibri’,‘sans-serif’]You can use Mask2Group plugin to accelerate operation.

Mask2Group

[font=‘Calibri’,‘sans-serif’]
[font=‘Calibri’,‘sans-serif’]After reload the model ,you can hidden at any time local mesh group (press ctrl + shift key ,click the areas that it did not mask ), and you can apply it to a mask again(key : ctrl + A), Then we received a previous drawn mask.

Still happening in ZB3.1 =(
Lame.

I noticed the other day too. I love how you can save a mask to an alpha. But if you use GUV or AUV tiles, make mask alpha, then try to mask by alpha, you get horribly masked seams all over.

If this is a bug, will it ever be fixed? I don’t know Pixologic’s history on patches besides the 3.1 that added some nice features, but broke a lot of things. The last post here was 5 months ago, that’s a lifetime if this bug was hurting your work.

I mean how hard is it to fix a few bugs, like if you use a deformation slider and a fresh new subtool, you will always crash.

I’ve been bumped this subject recently, and learned that it is possible to save and use saved alpha…

Hope this help…
