Is there a way to align the left side of the face to the right side? after modeling a face my left and right symmmetry are off, how can I align one side to the other?
Use one of the ReSym deformers.
Regular ReSym is meant for a model that has become slightly assymmetrical during a session. Smart ReSym is more intensive and can be used to correct a model that has become radically assymmetrical. Also, with Smart ReSym you can mask one side and the other side will be made to match it.
I am using version 1.55, is there a script maybe for this action, I dont see a smart resym tool by the X Y Z symmetry tools? could you maybe write a script for this, it would really help me, thanks.
I was reading some of the post here and discovered that there is no way to correct poser models with a symmetry tool, I guess its only zbrush to zbrush stuff.
I can’t see why you cannot resym a Poser model. Take a look at the ReSymmetry chapter of “Modeling 3D Objects” in the Help file. There is also a zscript on that page.
Could I have the link to that please?
Its in the Help file of Zbrush 2. Click the Help file, Modeling 3D Objects and then ReSymmetry. The script is at the bottom.
Ups, sorry, just saw you were using 1.55b
I think you’re best bet would be to export the object into some modeler and delete half of the model, mirror and merge any vertices.
how about creating a duplicate layer and then flipping it horizontally? then how would I maybe slice the layer in half then align the lower and upper together?
If you want an exportable model then that will not work. If you just want to make a picture in Zbrush it would work fine.
Mask the one half of the model (the one you want to keep), in Tools Modifiers
Selection press Hide Points. Snapshot the model to the canvas (shift+s), press Tools
Modifiers
Deformation
Mirror with just the 1 axis activated and drop your model to the canvas. All depending on how the polygons are placed along the middle of your model it should line up so so.
A second thought. You might try masking the one half of your model you want to keep. Press Delete Points in the selection sub palette. Clear the Mask and export the object. Still in zbrush, mirror your model along the desired axis and import using the inventory palettes Import button. Make sure Mrg and Add are enabled (I think). But again this method depends on the model being able to be masked straight down the middle. You might end up with holes otherwise.
Hmmm…this feature is of interest to me as well, but when I look in my ZScript folder, I only have a file named defaultzscript.txt … were the Zscripts available as a separate download?
(EDIT) … never mind, I found the feature in Tools. Wow, it works like a champ!
Its too bad Zbrush does not have a script for doing this, I could see it would be very useful for folks who have to do morphs for poser.
It does now … the Resym and SmartResym “scripts” are found in the Tools palette of ZBrush 2 … if you haven’t already taken advantage of the free upgrade, better do it! The SmartSym worked like a champ on P5 Judy’s face.
cool, did’nt know this!
