Alien Heavy Trooper

This guy is the first of 4 poses. I need to do some cleanup to ensure the posed mesh will generate a clean STL. But, he’s pretty much done. I’ll probably tweak the pose a teeny bit more.

The knife is a bit thick, but it needs to cast well in metal, and avoid large undercuts. I’ll be going back and tweaking it’s apparent thickness by undercutting slightly.

I’m gonna bang out 3 more poses, and then go back and do some cleanup. Then we’ll get these guys veted and shipped out to the printers! When finally cast up, they will be around 36mm tall.

The powerarmor was done entirely in Zbrush, starting from a Zsphere mesh. The Rifle, knife, etc, were done in Moi3d, exported as OBJs, and brought in as subtools.

firstly awesome scuplt and design. I have a couple of queries …
What material are you going to use when you finally cast it into a model?
Did you relie heavierly on Alpha brushes for the hard surface sculpts eg holes and bolts?
Love it!

They will be produced in pewter.

I mostly used the Flatten, Clay, and Std brushes for the suit. The Pinch brush was hardly used. Basically, to make a sharp edge, I’d lay down a ‘ridge’ using the clay brush, then flatten each side, then use a light smooth to clean the sides up more.

The holes and nubs in them, I dug a hole with the std brush, shrunk it’s size, then filled it back up some. I then touched up the sides with the flatten brush.

very nice, i like it

only the knife “box” is very huge, must be a huge knife he has there :stuck_out_tongue:

This guy looks pretty cool, dont forget to post a pic when its cast
