additional software

Hello!

I am searching for little programs, that generate calculated images, such as the structurefilters at PS (glas-mosaic, patchwork, cells ect).

I´ve searched thru ZBC and found Knot3D in this thread: http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004209 (thx WingedOne!)

there is one i´ve used sometimes:
at http://www.i-tex.de you find genTex wich is freeware and for non-commercial use. You can download a trialversion of Texture Maker, which seems to be nice piece of software! Look at the galeries!

Perhabs someone knows other useable programs like this. Black and white results will works as well.

look:

This is the glas-mosaic-filter of PS
After this I blurred it with the gauss-filter and added 85% kontrast, voila:

An organic looking bumpmap for reptile-skins.

What I am not searching for are “normal” fractalgenerators (i mean the mandelbrot, Julia, Lyapunov… - generators), because most of them produce pictures that are imo not very useful for working with 3D-Soft (like ZBrush).

So, i´m looking forward to your suggestions!

PS: Sorry for my english…

Sorry for putting it into the wrong forum - my fault.

Now i have a problem: Knot3D really is a nice program. It exports POV, VRML2, OBJ, DXF and STL.

For converting I use Crossroads - it worked fine so far, but it crashes or give out an error when i try to load any of the files exported by Knot3D.

What goes wrong?
Perhabs you know other good and free converters?!

I´m searchng for the link to “UV Mapper”, too!

greets!

Hi Froyd
UV Mapper

Hope this help
Pilou
Ps Zbrush is also a great “Texture Maker”

Thx for the link, Pilou!

I know, you can do wonderful textures with ZBrush! But it would be difficult to do this

or this

within seconds.

I´m not an expert in programming, but i think it must be possible to do similar work with ZScript. I´ve found a posting, where someone had posted 2 script that draw a bunch of rondom boxes on the canvas for grabbing it and using it as an alpha. I dont know, wether you can manipulate the positions of these boxes only by a random number but by using mathematics (sin, cos ect).
I will have a look at scripting in future

greets!

zbrush is the best texture maker available!
minutes to do both.
welcome!!

Hi Gary
Yes Zbrush is one of the better “Texture marker”
You must just refine a little your examples
Because the example by Froyd are “tilling pattern”
But you can make the same with the “Tiler Script” Inside Zbrush
Hope this, show a new tool
Have fun Tilling pattern
Pilou

yes great script, but theres always the ~ click and drag and stay away from edges, good eye on the tileable!

Hi Froyd
For drawing any volume with random positon
:large_orange_diamond: Fill a layer with mini spheres + Stroke “spray”
:large_orange_diamond: on another layer draw your volume 3D with Stroke “spray”
:large_orange_diamond: Delete the layer with the mini spheres
You will obtain your random position objects :sunglasses:
Hope this help :sunglasses:
