OK I know I have free fonts in 2020.1 under Zzfonts file but no such file exists in the 2021.
So I moved the whole file over and then nothing happened?
So I moved the file over to window/fonts and again nothing happened.
The only thing that did work was to hand load One at a time each font into the running Zbrush 2021.
All the while wondering am I going to have to do it this way again either in December or at some future time?
There should be a way to move in batch Both the fonts, and aftermarket Downloads into the next version(S) of Zbrush.
Hello @Chris_Fuhr,
If you install the fonts on your system, they will be available to any version of ZBrush with the Text 3D and Vector Shapes plugin, as well as any other program.
In Windows, you can do this by simply right clicking on the font file or files, and select “install for any user”. That’s the easiest way, but there are others. Investigate resources devoted to your OS for information on installing fonts.
In addition, you can also load individual font files on demand for ZBrush, with the “load font from disk” function. This is only necessary if your font is not installed for your OS.
Good luck!
I’ve done a few of the “load from disk” function One at at time. I wish I could use a grouping function and load my old collection into the new version?
Thank you for the idea of the install for any user.
Since I am the only one here I rarely think that way since the “Visitor” user button has never been used.
If you’re the only user account on the machine you only have to install them for yourself with the “install” option. You would install for any user if multiple accounts were present, and you wanted to be able to use them for any account.
Any fonts you install this way are available for any program on your computer, and you don’t have to worry about carrying them between programs or program versions.
Yes, it is. Good luck to you.
Great question, because in other forums I have been using this feature for a long time. I downloaded my favorite fonts once and never had to do it again, regardless of the blog version. By the way, it’s very cool that some forums have an option to download my own font and I always download my favorite font, which is the Ink Free Font. I’ve come across somewhere where you can’t even change the font size, let alone the font itself, and it’s very annoying.
