adding details to the lips

Hey everyone,
my first post right now

I don´t have that much experience in ZB up to now, but I want to add details to my latest head model within ZB, but everytime I try it, the details always look kind unnatural and too extreme.

I most of the time used only the standard brush.

Someone can tell me in which order to build the different details and how to archieve the different steps?

Thx in advance,
Regards,
Michael

Can you post an image from your model, i think it would be then easier to give you some hints/advices?

yes of course, here we go:

Concerning the unnatural look of your details: I would use photographic references. The imageplanes-plugin from zbrush is really good for this purpose. The use of it is explained in the skull-modeling-tutorial @pixologic.com.

Concerning the “extreme”-character of your detailing: I’m not sure if I have understand you correctly, but perhaps you use too much intensity in your brushes. The default values of the modeling-brushes are often too strong. For instance, while modeling with the standard brush I often use an intensity of 8-10 instead of the default 25.
Hope this helps a little.

actually, I always use brush stroke at a level around 5-10 most of the time.

I don´t really get your point, there aren´t really any details so far?

Or which parts do you mean?

will take a look at the pixologic page
