Add = subtract?

Hi there,

I’m really new to zbrush, so don’t mind the ugliness of this sculpt so far :p.

Anyways, I just got a tablet and it’s really amazing for z-brush. All the shortcuts I need are within a blind click away… but, somehow the settings are weird now. Actually, the settings using mouse and keyboard are perfectly fine, but using the tablet they’re wrong.

So an overview of the problems.
-When my settings are set to Zadd, the brush effect is that it subtracts. But when I use my mouse, it does add.
-When I ctrl click-pen the mesh, it doesn’t mask, and it does when I use the mouse. When I then ctrl click-pen it removes the mask like a brush.

I guess it’s obvious my tablet somehow inverts the functions, but how I don’t know, nor how to reverse the effects. It wasn’t like this in the beginning.

So any help would be much appreciated, here’s a screenshot in case it’s useful:Screenshot%20(11)|1200x394

Thank you :slight_smile:

ZBrush 4R8 P2 ?? That was released on August 9, 2017. A little behind the times. You really should upgrade to the latest version. Older versions are not really supported as there are too many variables to consider when trying to troubleshoot problems. Upgrades are still free to registered users. Log in to your My Licenses page and download the latest version, ZBrush 2020.1.1.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I figured out the problem in the end. My pen has a built in eraser switch button, and apparently I had clicked it at some point.

I had an older version of z-brush because the newer version didn’t work well with my size monitor. Although now I have a huge sized tablet it’s not a problem anymore :slight_smile:
