acdsee 9 image reference?

in the character modeling dvd by ian joyner he uses this software acdsee 7 to look at reference the same time he is sculpting is there a way to do this so that i can have an image open and zbrush at the same time on the screen so that i can sculpt with that image off to the side so that i can continualy have it there for refernce to refer to while sculpting the model thanks for your help.

You can use my Image Plane 3 plugin to do this.

Here’s a brief run-through:

  1. Load your model and put it in Edit mode.

  2. Set the ImgSze slider to 50 - this will make the image half the size of your canvas.

  3. Press the Image Plane button and load your reference image.

  4. Use the Shift H slider to move the image to one side.

  5. If you have difficulty moving points around the edge of your model when it’s over a background image, set the Preferences:Picker:Sample Size slider to 1.

HTH,

is there a way to use a separate program everytime i import it it changes the proportions of the image i just would like to run a separate image software at the same time so i have something to look at while sculpting with out the image disapearing while im sculpting but every time i go to sculpt the software gets covered up isnt there a way to run two programs at once like acdsee and zbrush?

You’ll have to resize the ZBrush window so that you can see the image software.

ok thanks marcus i will try your imageplane zscript thanks again for your help marcus sorry i just thought there might be another way to do it with a separate program thanks again for lending yet another hand.
