A suggestion

I like Zbrush. I think Zbrush is really great program.
It is very nice if you can provide separate forums of technical part, and art part. While there are many great art works, to be honest, it is hard for me to understand some art works. Furthermore, the Zbrush forum is very large.
Zbrush has rather steep learning curve. It may be important to have a good (and compact) technical forum.

I think that could be a good idea. There are enough posts on the forum to easily feed two different forums.

Personally, I’m more interested in the “art” part of the forum. It’s really nice to see all those very different ideas

That was something I suggested as well when they sent out that questionnaire to registered users.

that would be a good ideal. a place to browse art, and a place for tech support to answer help questions. i find if im not here for a couple days i have 100 posts to go through

At first this does seem like a good idea. And I guesss it could work… but what about when you do an image (which would go in the Art forum) and then want to say how the image was created? Would you have to switch forums and make a new post? This just feels inconvenient to me… but who knows?

Codexus, WingeOne, Krippler, and Mulvo, thank you very much for your positive responses.

Responding to Mulvo, I donft think we have to switch the forum.

Probably we donft need strict rule for a picture. I was thinking something described below.

If one wants to show a picture as an art work, and expects to have comments as an art work, one will submit the picture in Art Forum. Probably, art comments are subjective.
In the past, I asked some technical questions about the pictures, and they were often ignored. One could submit the picture in Art Forum, if one did not want to discuss the technical details, and expect subjective comments or evaluations

If one wants to show a new technique of the picture, and wants to share the technical matters, one will submit the picture in technical Forum. We may ask any technical details in the technical Forum.

This is just a guide. I donft think we need a strict rule.

Thank you very much again.

How about seperating it a little? Have a “Works In Progress” section and a “Gallery / Finished Products” section. That way if you wanted just to see peoples art you could, no problem.

Has anyone here ever been to Dhabih Eng at the sijun forums?

This is what i would like to see

These are some interesting suggestions, but my input would be to point out that all it would mean would be more work for the moderators…Everything mentioned fits into the Forum as it exists…
If technical questions arise, usually the artist will respond to questions on their thread…
If someone wants to post WIPS, they can do that…
If they want to just post finished pieces, they can do that…

My position is, ‘If it ain’t broke…Don’t fix it…’

sure sometimes it gets a bit tedious when you have missed a bunch of postings within a day or so and then try to play catchup…but it’s not like it is that hard of work to do…and we have to have a moderated forum…(ponder the last several deleted threads) and yeah WIPs and other things push the thumbnails aside quickly…Maybe at some point ZBC will be able to sponsor a gallery like Renderosity…but that must take an incredible amount of computer space and financing to keeping it all up and running…but hey…Things aren’t that bad around here …I am one of those people that dig thru all the missed threads anyways and bookmark all the kewl stuff to refer back to at later dates…this was a great idea for a thread…thnx for letting me share with yall :+1:

I am sorry. I was not sure that it was big burden for the moderators to separate the forum into two parts.
However, I did not, and probably can not make important contributions here.
I should not have proposed it.

Nothing wrong with proposing it HimCo. While I guess it is the general feeling right now that we don’t need it, when we have 5000 members it may became a neccasery thing…

and Himico, just because a few of us don’t think that it needs improving doesnt mean we are right…if things were never questioned life would get prety stagnated…I expressed my opinion…you did right to bring up the question…I hope I didn’t come off sounding righteous or anything like that…hey at least you are thinking…I think my brain is just on cruise control half the time…and the other half I dont know where it is

My thinking was that dividing up the forum into further sub-categories would be that I thought it would actually make less work for the moderators rather than more. Just my 2 cents.

I didnft mind at all that it was turned down, if the reasonable discussions were given.
OK, I may come back at that time in the future. Or I will be waiting for someone to publish a good Zbrush book like the great book, gReal World Bryceh.

My last word is:
I thought it would help Zbrush to grow (open the door to wider people). It was not a joke.

Actually Himco,

I think that there is more support for your suggestion than you think. As so many just like to exhibit their work it becomes increasingly difficult to find the posts that have interesting technical details. Personally I find it too much work to go through all the posts.

I would welcome a forum purely for art and one with techniques that would be generally useful.
