a rough z-script: mangrove

zscript + tool + mat + light: bush

script is unchecked. in case it doesnt work here is the main ingredient: an unskinned zsphere tool, z-symmetry-radial-5 on for most of construction with increased density and decreased size, spraystroke, picker: other-layer-on.

hope this inspires you to go on and to do better

Hy Juandel i just finish to see your zscript, it function ok, the only thing is it stop when your are moving the second layer (water reflection), but without problem.
Well, your post I like a lot and as you suggest can be used in the context of other landscape, i will use it and post something to you.
Congratulations and very thank for share your creativity and help the forum to grow.
Thanks again

Thanks for sharing this script JuJu. I will take a few photographs of the mangroves here for you to use as reference. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Very cool script, thanks for sharing :+1: Great picture.

thank you, ZBs! i just reran the script and realized its a few best renders too mucho. + i wished i would finally think about using the transformation-info-boxes instead of freehand gyro when recording a session  anyhow, i am glad it worked for most of you  cant wait for the photos, DeeVee! its been 15 yrs. since i saw some mangroves and can need an update

edit as per 08-15-03: thank you for posting those :+1: :+1: :+1: photos, DeeVee! you are for sure our z-agent of the tropical regions

i tried to create a root zsphere and to insert it into the above pic and came up with this, hopefully a little more authentic one:

wow , these are looking great , I’ll try out the script , thx :+1:

neat stuff! Looks like a photograph. Will give the script a try. Thanks
:+1:

Great juju! just two things I would change,1: the shade of green, the mangrove has darker colored foliage, and 2:the roots need to be much darker, yours need a tan  :+1: :+1: :+1:

Very nice approach Juandel, this one is with your tool. Thanks very much for share your tool.

121 Welcome

very impressive post, your landscape got an incredible mood which makes me think about a lost paradise… :grimacing: :+1:

Nice work, Hansl! The spreading roots on the second version make a huge difference. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Well, Jaundel, your script stopped before the water plane was positioned as you have it. So I just decided to work with it from there. I positioned the water plane and changed the reflection and the material. I added some rocks and moss etc. and took off the fog. It didn’t come out too bad so I thought I would share my results here.

Thanks for the tool! I will play with it again soon!

Pretty amazing stuff Hansl, thanks for the script and a look at the great results. I think Pixologic need you in charge of Z landscape development, you have produced some first class results in this area. Dave :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

thank you all for your kind comments, i am very happy that this quickie-script inspired some to do mangroves using this technique - or others  just to make this complete here are links to the other mangrovethreads i found:
