a problem with lips and head propotions need some help...

hello guys.

i recently started to learn Zbrush and i have found myself dealing with a problem.

wich i just dont how to deal with…

im trying to create basic head…

and im using references wich i found anatomy 4 sculpters…

and well here is an issue i have encountered…

as i said before i do recording with a reference

but no metter i do

i alaways ended up with no place for the lips and the chin…

and when i trying to strach the jaw and in order to make place.
its just look way to long and streached and not really realistic.
any idear why its happend and how do i solve it?

To get more polys in an area, you can mask the lips, then invert mask, then divide.

… but you might want to look at using Dynamesh for sculpting instead.

Where’s the reference you’re using?

The problem isn’t that the jaw is too long. The problem is your forehead is way too short. Unless you’re doing a stylized or cartoonish model then you need to adjust your forehead above the eyes.

Notice where the eyes are in the following reference images:

The eyes are approximately in the middle, not at the top. The reason people’s faces look smaller than they really are is because of their hair. It covers up the top of the head and can hide the actual size and even shape of the head. Try sculpting some hair on your model and suddenly your face will appear too small. So again your problem isn’t the mouth it’s the top of the head. When using a photo for reference don’t forget to include the areas hidden by hair.
