A little help...

Zbrush community…

Mine and a fellow zbrusher’s work has been recognized. We have been asked to name a price for models created in zbrush. We never expected to do this kind of thing for profit but hardly want to pass on this opportunity.

If anyone out there can inform us as to the criteria for setting a price please let us know… we are very new to this industry.

thank you all

Dunno if this helps but a friend of mine that used to frequent this forum charged 70 dollars an hour for her digital art in the commercial world…Hope that tidbit helps.

Do most people charge by the hour? Forgive my ignorance, but I know nothing.

I dont know that answer to that…but another friend of mine that once lived here on the forum was hired by a company to knock out some detailed insect models for a product’s packaging and I think he was getting 400+ for each detailed and textured model for the project. I remember he and I chatting about it and laughing at how many bugs he would have to create in order to get his new dream machine …lol…Guess it depends on your client, how deep their pockets are, how much work you have to do and what you want or think your work and creations are worth…other factors may include if this will be an ongoing project with future work etc…if that is the case then you might want to cut them some slack on the pricing…

We have quite a few free lancers on the forum that hopefully will see t his thread and be able to offer a bit more insight in the pricing area.

I appreciate the responses. It seems like a lot to think about. Perhaps some of those freelancers you were talking about can lend some of their experience.

Thank you Ron for the help!
