A 3D portrait of Mariya Takeuchi

I want to credit Alan Levenson who took this marvelous photograph of a Mariya Takeuchi, that served as the key reference for this 3D artwork. I came across this reference photo a very long time ago and I still just love it too much. Its a very appealing representation of her and yet its so simple. I believed it would make for a good challenge for a 3D portraiture piece, in realtime. And so here it is!
Beyond interpreting a photograph in 3D, the big thing for me was that I challenged myself to only work under a realtime workflow, while really trying to maintain as much fidelity to the reference as possible. With that said, this was my first real attempt at grooming hair cards! I went substantially over an ideal tri-count, but now I actually feel confident tackling the beast :slight_smile:
