my blog on this…

Friday showings
Well I first unhappy with the theater here…they found out only Monday that they were goign
to be showing Horrorfest… We found out an hour before the movie started by
accident…The fist one we saw was Unrest…it was an ok movie for a B movie,
but…was definitely a PG movie and did not live up to the hype. The ending could
have been a bit more climatic for sure. The sex scene was way tooooooooo mild as were the
slayings…I knew it was going to be a bit on the crapola side in the opening scenes with
chick at the mirror “drawing” blood onto her face. The blood was way too thin and light
colored…and the glass didn’t even dig into any type of latex appliance…very poorly
executed… C- rating to me.
Then we ate supper and went to see Reincarnation…I like J Horror, but this was another
solid PG movie…the doll near the end, the dead people in the streets, and the padded cell
to me were the highlights of this Subtitled yawner…I would watch it on cable but would
not pay to a rental of it…J stood for junky to me in this one…
These movies hopefully will get better to some degree. I guess advertising 8 (which is 9
now) movies is cheaper than doing it one at a time. The manager at the theater said this
was a test apparently for audiences. So this might be a new trend. Sounds like an
outstanding idea, but 8 doo doo movies to die for…geeeez false advertising so far…and
that is sad…gives real horror a bad name .
The other thing to me is this should have been a package deal with a bulk rate ticket price
and a marathon back to back movies constantly…I told my buddy, how P-Oed we would have
been had we had to have driven an hour and a half to have gotten to a theater that was
listed as being closest to us.
With the advertising, I really and truly expected something UnRated at least that would wet
my whistle and maybe turn my stomach from being somewhat scared or shocked…I was only
shocked at how pitiful these two wastes of my time and money were.

Missed Saturday’s day of this…
Sunday matinee…

Well I laid down some more money today and saw The Hamiltons…still ultra tame…I
understood what they were trying to accomplish with the film, but it didn’t belong in
something introduced as shocking horror…Great start, but they didn’t quite come thru for
me. The ending sucked and was anti climatic once again…Definitely could have been better,
but was no where as bad as Reincarnation…a total stinker and Unrest which wouldnt have
taken that much more to have been a good movie. The films just lose speed and or
momentum…I feel taken…especially my hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

(ps…copied this from my notepad so please forgive the weird looking format)

pss…George Romero is now shooting “Diary of the Dead”.

So it looks like they are bringing back new multiplay movies? Just really crappy? Maybe their budgets are too high. Low budget horror+creative director=awesome.
