50th anniversary of the Magnificent Seven

Was thinking of having a small party, punch, chips.

I will bring some magic bean dip…

I saw it recently as well as “The 7 Samurai”.

i frakkin love seven samurai, watch it a few times a year, saw it in 04 on the big screen, mifune 20ft tall was overwhelming. kurosawa was amazing and is constantly battling with kubrick for my favorite director.

I just saw “Fistful of Dollars”(again) recently which prompted me to order Kurosawa’s Yojimbo.

Saw this movie when it first came out.
Actually I heard the theme song ( version by Al Caiola), bought the record, played it about 20 times in a row and saw the movie that night.

My parents were extremely patient.

To date it is the movie I have watched the most.
Also started my love of soundtracks.

A blog I belong to, recently found the soundtrack to
“Guns of the Magnificent Seven”. Downloaded the music.
It rekindled my love of the movie
Bought the collectors edition of “The Magnificent Seven”.
Rented “Seven Samurai” ( must confess have never seen it)

You get the feeling I am a bit overboard.

My better half is getting tired of me walking around the
house dressed in only a gunbelt saying “we deal in lead,
friend”

Have started to make scenes in Poser for myself, have
included one here.

To be honest, zbrush had nothing to do with this one.

Was the TV series version any good?

…their SnowWhite?
Robert Vaughn is still alive!

Snow was busy the day they shot the photo!!!
Long time no see, how have you been?

Sorry missed the previous post, have all the episodes of the TV series.
Not too bad!!!
What I liked ( and this is weird) is how they used the Elmer Bernstein
score.
Series was expensive to make and the script writers ran out of ideas
that would utilize seven “heros” at once.
Was actually cancelled and then brought back.
Still can find reruns on the cable stations.

For the writers it wasn’t like Gilligan’s Island where they had seven characters, not all heroic. Then again GI itself only lasted 3 seasons… but reruns make it seem like more.

Was picturing Bob Denver as one of the seven.

:D:D:D

I loved the movie. ANd 7 samurai as well.

Yuh, I can tell.

Where are the wrinkles? They ought to be gunning down orcs.

The orcs are the ones chasing them !!!

Emilio, youngest boy in village, sells postcards, goes through pockets

for money, Cats and dogs not safe in his presence. He was sent because parents would not miss him. Potential Congressman for his district.

"You must help us.

We have nothing…

The bandits…they come and eat the food.

They shoot our fathers.

They do bad things to our mothers, sisters and livestock.

No one will do anything.

All the people in charge are Democrats."

"Of course! Of course! Be glad to help! No problem! How much you got? Lots of girls in village?

How much you got? Gonna need a lot of help. Maybe six others. We won’t tell them about the fee.

How much you got? Lots of girls in the village? I know just the six we can get. Won’t be easy.

Got an older sister? Got any caffeine on you?

Six is good! About the livestock…"
