4R7 - Sphere3D gets a hole when subdividing? [Answered]

Hello,

I’m not sure if I’m just not reading it right, or if it’s just a hiccup on Pixologic’s side, but the documentation to the new 4R7 explicitly states that all radial-based primitives now has their center points welded, yet when I convert a Sphere3D primitive into a polymesh3D mesh, and then divide it via Tools:Geometry:Divide, there is still a tiny hole at the bottom of the mesh!

I understand there are easy ways to fix the tiny hole like closing it up or welding points or whatnot, I could easily avoid having to do that if this problem didn’t exist in the first place (especially since the documentation states that it shouldn’t be there, if I am reading it correctly).

May anyone please help clarify to me whether this is just a problem with ZBrush or if I’m just a bumbling idiot? Thank you.

Here’s a screenshot of what the mesh looks like once I subdivide it once, as you can see there is a tiny hole there:

I can confirm this and have reported it to the development team.

I am also experiencing this problem.
