4R7 QCube creasing/point split edges questions

Hi, I am following the tutorials on 4R7 and would have the following questions:

  1. using the zmodeler brush and QCube, how can I have all the edges creased?
  2. same as 1. but instead of zbrush creasing can I have double edge-loop applied instead (this one is compatible is other 3D software). I just don’t want to do this for every single edge.
  3. when I use zmodeler brush point split action to create a nice round opening, how can I control the poly count of this opening? (and potentially its shape?)

Thanks.

  1. Geometry/CreaseAll

another thing: say I want to move an edge loop with zmodeler brush. When pressing space on an edge, I got no option to select an edge loop, so the operation works only on the selected edge. How to select the edge loop? Thanks.

You can use a Polygon Action set to ‘Crease’, with a Target set to ‘All Polygons’. This will set creasing on every single edge in your mesh.

@Lone - nice !
Any idea how to select a whole edge loop to move it?

answer to my question 3. after using split point, use Ring as target and each application will refine the ring with more edges. This is actually explained in a tutorial video I didn’t come to earlier.

Mask all vertices except those in your edge loop, then set Zmodeller, Edge Action to ‘Move Infinite Radius’ and the Target to ‘EdgeLoop complete’. You can also choose to add ‘Shift’ as a key press after beginning the LMB-click-drag to constrain the movement along the perpendicular axis.

@Lone: thanks, it works great! Actually I didn’t need to mask anything, just “Edge Action to ‘Move Infinite Radius’ and the Target to ‘EdgeLoop complete’” was sufficient in my case.

You’re right! Sweet! Even easier. :slight_smile:
