4R7 NoiseMaker problem [SOLVED]

Hi, I’m having an issue with Noisemaker in both, 4R7 P2 32 and 64 bit Mac versions. Every time I activate Surface Noise ZB crashes. It has happened with every single tool I’ve tried, it doesn’t matter if it’s an old tool I made in previous ZB versions, new tools from primitives, opened from lightbox (ie. the demo soldier), the result is the same:

If I apply any noise from Lightbox it shows in the tool but if I press “Edit”, ZB crashes. I’ve installed 4R7 P2 for Mac twice following the instructions, I’ve deleted previous versions of ZBrush from my Applications folder and nothing seems to work.

I’ll appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Thanks a lot!

This has worked for me in the past when Noismaker was crashing. I’m on PC, but you should be able to convert this. Read the whole thing first.

  1. Save your Config and UI Colors first to a different spot other than C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData folder then close ZBrush.

  2. Delete the contents of C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\ZBrushData folder (subfolders and content only is fine). Don’t worry, ZBrush will create new ones.

  3. Start ZBrush

  4. Load the Config and UI Colors that you saved earlier.

Note: I don’t have custom hotkeys so I can’t guarantee anything there. Try saving your hotkey file then loading it later.

Thank you so much, zber2!!

Your method did the trick!!

Best regards

Glad to help a fellow canuck eh! :+1:
