4r7 Image Plane freezing issues

Hi all,
First off, I just want to say that I LOVE 4r7!
Killer features and obviously, ZModeler is amazing.
That said, one little issue I’ve noticed is that sometimes,
my meshes freeze when trying to move them around
when there’s an image loaded in the Image Plane.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thx in advance!

Hi DigiDemon,

Are you using Perspective at all with Image Plane? The reason I ask is that there is now a ‘Dynamic’ mode with Perspective and when this is on it can freeze the model when there’s an image behind.

You can turn off the Dynamic option by clicking on the word ‘Dynamic’ which is in the Perspective button. You may need to click on the mesh before it will rotate.

If this doesn’t solve the problem then I’ll need to look at the problem in more depth. Any pointers you might be able to give as to when this happens would be very useful.

Thanks,

Hi Marcus, thanks very much for the prompt reply.
No, I never have perspective on when sculpting.
It’s just in normal orthographic mode and does the freezing thing.
If I press CTRL N to clear the image from the image plane, the model goes back to normal, but yeah,
it sometimes does the annoying freezing thing when an image is showing. :-/
Not all the time, but sometimes.

Hi DigiDemon,

Many thanks, I will have a look to see if I can find the problem. In the meantime, pressing the view button for the view you have selected will reset it and may just cure the problem. Let me know if it does. Also, are you on Windows or MacOSX?

Thanks,

Thanks.
I’m on a PC, running Windows 7.
Also, it’s doing that with both versions of 4r7.
Btw, what do you mean by pressing view for the view I have selected?
You mean press front, back or whatever view?

I also just realized that when it does freeze up, clicking the right click button on the Wacom pen (and mouse) and holding, will allow for the sculpture to be moved around as normally should. Weird.
