When using Ctrl+Alt to unmask (or even on already unmasked areas) the MaskPen is leaving a blurry mask behind instead of erasing out masked areas. The RGB slider is at 100 while holding Ctrl+Alt. The problem started a few days ago and I’ve just been working around it, but it’s going to really slow down some of the things I want to do as I move forward with my current model. I believe the cause of the problem was when I went to type in another window without clicking off of ZBrush and ended up activating something without knowing what I activated.
I started having the problem in 4R7 and just upgraded to 4R8, thinking it might fix the problem as a new installation, but it still occurs when I open the files I was using in 4R7. It occurs across all subtools and even happens in other files that were already completed with normally functioning masking and unmasking, so it seems clear that it is some kind of option or preference as opposed to something to do with the mesh/geometry.
I did some searches and found this post that had the same problem. In this thread the user says that the problem was that they had accidentally turned on a gradient option or something of the sort, so I’ve been looking for that kind of option in 4R8 in relation to masking but I can’t seem find it. This seems like this should be a simple fix, am I just missing something obvious? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
