3part insertmesh curve brush along a helix - this possible?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if it was possible to apply 3part IMM brush on a diffrent way than just stroke it with a brush.
Is there a way to have the brush appied along a certain geometry or possible a polygroup?

I have a flask and a rope IMM brush and want to wind the rope a few times around the upper part of the flask.

Id greatly apprechiate if someone could point me into the right direction regarding a good tutorial on this.

Thank you!

Davey

I’ve actually been trying to do something similar. Dragging an IMM around a difficult shape would be hell. The only solution I’ve thought of is just extracting a spiral mask a few times and hand sculpting the details, but I know that’s a less precise solution. It’d be lovely if ZB had a spline-esque clone feature.

Thanks for the answer.

Hey, have you tried using curve functions?

If you look in the “stroke” drop down and go to curve functions you can have Zbrush draw you curves following borders, polygroups and/or creased edges. To do what you mentioned with the rope I grabbed the default helix and creased the inside facing edge and ran the Frame Mesh with only creased edges selected and I had a 3 part IMM all the way up!
