3DS Max, Maya, or Cinema 4D

Hello, so lately i have been looking for a new program to add to my workflow. I was wondering which you guys prefer over the other and which one you may reccommend to me. I would like to start animating more cartoon-like characters and perhaps make a short film. I have tried 3DS Max lately and im loving it but how does the animation stand up to Cinema 4D and Maya? I would also like to know which would be the easiest among the three to import and export to and from zbrush. I would love some feedback from you guys on these programs so i can get a better idea of what to purchase.

I can’t speak for C4D, but it does seem that far more problems arise from a Max to Zbrush workflow than from a Maya to Zbrush workflow. These problems don’t seem insurmountable, but they are things to keep in mind. Also, as you probably know, Max is quite a bit cheaper than Maya, though the word cheaper is certainly relative here.

I’ve used both Maya and Max at an intermediate level and found them to be quite comparable. They will probably diverge to a greater degree with more advanced functions, but all I’ve needed I’ve been able to find in both.
