3D World magazine gives Z2 a 9 out of 10 review!

Hi all. Just wanted to share the good news. I picked up the current issue of 3D World Magazine today (Issue 53). It has an excellent two page review of Zbrush 2 with little to say about anything bad in this version. Since it’s illegal to scan or rewrite the article in its entirety, i’ll just quote a few things from the article(that’s perfectly legal  ):

“…a new user can be up modeling in hours instead of days…”

“The package has powerful polygon modelling attributes and can match some of the UV texturing applications. Equally, it has a very good range of 2D features…”

“With more and more studios and games developers starting to understand its capabitlities and discovering where it can fit into their pipeline, the future really does look bright for Zbrush.”

In fact the only bad things (if you want to call them that) it says, which can easily be resolved with zscripts that i’m sure some people here at zbc could create are: Only one UV map per model, Limited Perspective View, and Static Viewpoint.

So, like I said, just wanted to share the good news with you all before the dreaded work week comes.

3D World Magazine is a monthly publication for 3d artist that’s printed in England and is available at various bookstores / newstands thru-out the world. I highly recommend picking it up. A valuable resource for the digital artist. www.3dworldmag.com

Edit: also mentioned in the mag, in another article, is that Z2 picked up an award for Technical Innovation this year at 3D Festival 2004 in Copenhagen (in case you all didn’t know).

Happy Zbrushing Everyone!!

Yeee. Range of features - 10. I don’t agree about the value for many(it’s been given 9). It should be 20.

Absolutely! ZB must be one of the best value apps of any kind available! - Baz
