3D Text ~ Braille 3D Prints

Hi.

I need to produce a ‘water-tight’ file (.stl) for 3D printing that combines 3D text with a 3D plaque for bronze casting. Please see attachments.

I have made a plaque base in Maya and have imported that into ZBrush to apply text and export an .stl model.

After creating my first line of text (Nile Crocodile) the Edit button is not available and won’t become active so I can’t continue.

My project is a Zoo Program to extend the experience to the Blind and the ability to easily make 3D text labels and plaques exported from ZBrush would be a big help.

Can anyone help me understand how to use ZBrush to accomplish this?

Thanks!ZBrush_Text_01.jpg

It looks as though Edit mode is being lost for some reason. Try this macro which should refresh the Edit button. Save the file to the ZStartup/Macros/Misc folder and then press Macro>Reload All Macros. There should then be a new button called “RefreshEdit” in the Macros>Misc sub-palette.RefreshEdit.txt (383 Bytes)

Thanks, Marcus.

Hi.

Installed and reloaded but detect no change in performance.

I’m using the 3D text plugin to make a model for a bronze zoo plaque (for .stl export for 3D printing) and can’t seem to get the ‘Edit Text’ button to work.

I was hoping to go in and correct the individual extrusions so they are all the same but am only given the choice of entering new text and starting over.

Is there a way to edit the text so I can change the font or extrusion on the existing text ?

Thanks!

~T.~
