3D Scan/digital human retopo and UV workflows

Hi all, this is my first post so I hope this is the right section for it.
I’m trying to nail down a good workflow for taking digital human characters from 3D scan files Like this http://www.3dscanstore.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=760 and retopoing and UV’ing it to make an animatable character for maya etc.
I’ve seen quite a few retopo tuts but nothing thats taking into consideration re mapping the UV map onto the new retopo’d mesh.
I’m sure this must be a pretty common task but I appreciate the methods that can be used are quite diverse and constantly changing, I would love to hear from some people who have a good workflow for this already ?

it’s a high to low workflow. no different than any other.
The only difference is that the highpoly was a scan rather than a sculpt to begin with.

you need to clean up the scan
create a new lowpoly and unwrap it
transfer all of your details and textures.

Nothing really different about this.

The issue I have is i’m not familiar with the workflow on how to do that, I understand the process and i’m having good success with most things like projecting details etc however I can’t get it to work using pollypaint. I wounder if you know any good tutorials on the subject, i’ve only really found one and its not working for me currently.

What do you mean you can’t get it to work for polypaint?
Can you show images, etc?

I couldn’t get it to transfer the polypaint data but its cool i’ve sorted it now cheers
