3D Print Exporter Problems [Not Exporting Correctly…>:(]

Hello there everyone, my name is Gabriel, and this will be one of my first posts on the Zbrush Community Forums. I am having a bit of a dilemma with the 3D Print Exporter Plug-in. I have a 3D Model I want printed (an image is attached below) and I have uploaded it to a 3D Printing website known as Shapeways.com. The model, by the way, is of the Pokémon known as “Beldum”. Now here is where the problem comes into play. Every time I export my model using the 3D Print Exporter Plug-in it never seems to export correctly. The Texture map will be off and not wrap around the model like it’s supposed to. In Shapeways’ 3D Model Viewer my Beldum looks like it has the texture map upside down and doesn’t wrap around the model like it’s supposed it should. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on this? Anything will do.

The Basic Model is “Beldum_3D_Print_Compositing_SD_RGB_.png”
Model in Shapeways Viewer is “015_05_05_Beldum_Model_Shapeways_Viewer_.png”

Hi,

I have been battling with the same problem and one thing I have figured out is that Zbrush saves its textures flipped for some reason so you can just open it in photoshop or any other image editing problem and just rotate it 180-degrees and then it should load correctly. Texture can also be flipped in the “texture” menu.

  1. Go to “Texture Map”
  2. Click “Clone Txtr” (this will load the texture into your texture palette).
  3. Open the “Texture” menu and select the texture and click “Flip vertical” button/icon.
  4. On the left side of your UI under brush there “Texture” box, click there choose the texture and export it using the button at the bottom of that menu. Export as JPG, or PNG.

Or export using 3d print exporter and just flip the texture using photoshop.

I hope this helps
