3D Game project looking for free contributions art assets, ideas.

Hi

We have been building up since 99 to create our first 3D game.

We are still partly or rather unfounded and pretty mush undefined to what the actual game will look like and be about, so much room is left for you to add your ideas and form the final game.

What we have been working with these years is learning all about different generation graphics processors and how to program them. Learning tools and we are tring to hit some optimal point in time when the hardware, API’s and tools and peoples skills are optimal to create this game. That’s why we have researched and “waited” for the correct timing. We believe it is know…. So do you want to take the red pill or the blue pill?

We have put together an art pipe line that we are pretty happy with and yes it includes ZBrush 2.5 (when every it’s released).

We have set up quality goals and we do have an organized way to work.

We have a studio and an Internet based asset version handling system.

We also have really nice tools to the 3D engine we are contributing to and a lot of our own 3D scene graph and scene manager technology.

And we have designed the on-line client server aspects of the game. What we haven’t defined is the look and feel of the clients 3D world and the exact game rules, just the basic on-line game criteria’s.

Basically we need people that can either take each assets all the way.

Or people that can help us with simpler but time consuming tasks that needs to be done in order to use the assets in the 3D game.

We also need the so called true artists that are really good at what they do and they will not be bothered to take there assets all the way but rather they will be allowed to deliver just a shape. If textured it has to have correct UV mapping for 3D games.

We hope this project will take of…but it will do so even more with your help.

The basic idea is to build an on-line 3D game system that will allow us to connect different games together without the players playing the different games will notice that there opponents uses a different client if we don’t want they to notice it of course.

This allows us to deliver more game clients with new looks and game play ideas and it will allow our players to modify there clients 3D world heavily.

The look for the first game client world is art neveu, retro. Steam cars, blips with steam engines meets time machine teleporters. Strange looking comic characters almost like marionettes on strings made in plaster.

Real time physics that lets you drive upside down in some areas and in some areas not.

Massive crowds of creatures flying or flocking on the hills. Armies gathering for combat in the thousands all using our massive crowd system running on the graphics processor.

We also have a 2D look to 3D models so a character can look have one shape from the side and another shape from the front and we morph them according to the camera angle. This allows us to preserve the 2D concept artists take on an character or object after look development.

We are also doing a research project where we are using the new geometry shader in DirectX10 in the new MS Vista to allow the scene to be rendered fully interactive using painterly rendering look.

We have also a scene graph technology that uses hardware features in the graphics processors to control and optimize the game scene graph and AI, animation, rendering, physics and more.

All and all we have a lot of nice things ready or being close to ready that we want to through in to make a nice and different kind of game.

The vision is to explore what we can do and use not necessary our entire tech or art in the final game of course.

We know where we are heading but it’s still very much undefined so here is your chance to make a real difference.

Welcome to our forum at www.abcmedia.se , the forum has private areas that requires your to register and get approved to enter them. But you are welcome to join our large effort to make a “new” kind of game.

Welcome to the real world.
