After some critiques partway through and then making some improvements, I finished video 2 of Module 2 of the course and this is how the sculpt looks now. Feedback and critiques are appreciated.
Hey! Awesome looking model! Although I would recommend for you to start with lower count of polygons. Usual mistake of beginners is going too High poly count too Fast. So I would suggest try to keep around 100 k polygons with dynamesh, or you can try to block out the base with simple geometrical primitives. Anyways, try to keep low until you match the reference you have, also anatomy, forms and volumes are correct. Do some research about Primary shapes first, and Secondary shapes on top them, and Tertiary forms (details) on top. Do not think about and do not pay attention to tiny details or details at all until you are done with primary and secondary forms. This is what I have learned so far, as I am a self learned student myself. Hope this helps. Good luck! Peace
Thanks for your feedback.
It’s funny, one of the critiques I got before the improvements before posting this was that I had started with too many polygons so I decreased the amount with ZRemesher down to around 100K, as recommended in that earlier critique post, before making the improvements. I’m pretty sure I did the blockout with primitives and then Dynameshed them together, maybe the Dynamesh resolution was too high (although I’m also pretty sure it was on the default settings, but that could’ve been too high for this). I did at least try to go from big forms to small forms in my process.
