3D-Characters Monthly 3d Challenge

3D-Characters has decided to host a 3D Character Challenge each month.

The purpose of this challenge is to assist members to add some different character models to their portfolios and open their minds to new concepts. We are aiming the monthly concepts around industry used character models and not any one field.

OVERVIEW

  • 3D Challenges are announced and open from the 1st of the month to the 25th of the same month.

  • Winners will be announced on the first of the month along with the new challenge details.

  • 3D Challenges are open to all 3D-Characters members.

  • Voting will be done through a voting poll and all members can have their vote. Final decision will be of the group ADMIN.

PRIZES

  • There will be one winner selected each month and Featured on the homepage of 3D-Characters for the following month with a description of the artwork and a link to their website/portfolio or blog.

  • The winner will also be featured in a interview by Soulty666. discussing the ‘making of’ and displaying some W.I.P’s.

APRIL CHALLENGE

Design your own urban toy.

3D modelling isn’t all about games and film. Toy design is making it’s move from eastern to western. The character design can also be used as a cartoon design for your portfolio.

GUIDELINES

  • No poly limit
  • No UV mapping or texturing needed (can use if you want). Only polypaint/body paint requied or clay render.
  • One Final render must be submitted into the ‘Challenges’ folder under ‘APRIL CHALLENGE’.
  • No moving parts required.
  • Multiple entries allowed.
  • Submissions remain the property of the creator.
  • Entries end on the 25th April.

Look forward to seeing many members compete. There will be a voting poll on the home page for members to vote on. Just remember this is one that can be used to approach Toy companies like Kid Robot and may be sold for a production line or custom one off.
