3d broke my brain

So i just watched coraline and trough the whole movie
i thought maaaan this is awesome cg they made i look like clay!!!
I was amazed by the art direction and animations.
At the end of the movie i was kinda missing the 3d modellers listed…
ITS STOP MOTION!! Simply amazing and the fact that i didnt know it before
made this even more fantastic

I just cant get over this

i really loved seeing this movie, the craftmanship was just amazing, at least there is still a place for stop motion, and i found it quite refreshing, and in 3d the depth was just awesome.

i like this movie and amazing with behind the scene + animator + director +fantastic work:D:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
and this is movie in my mind The Nightmare Before Christmas

 whoa… thanks for the share man-that’s wild!

Yeah stop motion has really become not very stop motion looking anymore also see corpses bride also stop motion and hard to see also thought that was all CG.

Just seen bits off that but yeah i actually did think that :stuck_out_tongue:
Im wondering what would be cheaper 3d or stopmotion.
Anyways its really great to see that there is still classic stopmotion around
but making all those mouths for that tiny bit of talk in coraline just
cant be effective from a moneys point of view.
I guess the people that worked on it would also work without pay because
they love it so much <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/upload/atn.gif”>

all the faces modeled in 3d for the blendshapes and then output to an objet printer.
i agree stu, love just ebbs from the craftmanship of the movie, something i’ve yet to really see in a cg film. not to say i didn’t love incredibles and final fantasy spirits within. i miss the tangiblity that is in stop motion did you see curse of the were rabbit?

has anyone else had an issue with the 3d glasses, maybe it was my theater but everything that wasn’t dead center was somewhat blurry.

I envy you lot, Coraline only showed in the ‘normal’ edition over here. I’ve seen it and absolutely loved it, can’t even imagine how great the 3D version would look.

I’ll be sure to order the DVD with the 3D glasses, although that probably is nothing compared to a theater experience, it’s still better than nothing I guess

Yeah 3d cinemas are something we dont have here yet either.
I was in one when i was in ireland but i couldnt really enjoy it.
Sure the 3d effects were nice in some scenes but overall i found
wearing glasses just for that a little annoying.
It kinda got me a headache too.
Its a nice gimmick but i dont really see the future off cinema in it.
Id prefer to see good movies rather than good effects :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Sure coraline for example is aimed more at kids but why get them used
to 3d glasses from an early age when they would also enjoy the movie
without them.

I was really impressed with coraline, not only by the looks, but by the story and quality also, great movie. Meybe it will win an oscar ;]
