#3 Help!! Virus and Spam

The last three day I keep receving a email with subject:

" Undelivered email returned to sender"

I check the full and raw header: The FROM really was MY email address, and the TO was someone I don’t know. And it includeed an attachment which was an VIRUS "09YBMJWL…eml

I run Virus scan many time but it does not detect it. I search over my computer but can’t find that file either.

And TOday, it comes again, the TO is another email address that I never known of. I’m so mad. I don’t know what to do. Help me !!!

Looks like you got a worm , there are many of those these days. It composes a mail by taking pieces of text from other mails in your inbox and sends it off to either people in your addressbook or randomly generated email adresses which is the reason it might not have arrived.
Maybe you could try scanning your computer for virusses with an online scanner , I once tried out one of those but I cant remember the site url. I’ll edit this post if I find it again.

One site i find invaluable is Virus Total You upload any suspicious file, up to 10 megs, and it will scan it using about 15 different scanners. Upload that file to them and see what it says.

I’ve used the McAfee online service for 3 years along with an agressive firewall and had zero problems. Prior to that I had trouble all the time. You should consider investing in a service like that. Compared to the time cost of reinstalling everything it’s cheap. It actively scans all emails and anything you might run into on the net. It updates multiple times daily. There is lots of bad stuff floating around. They have a free scan on their site and I’ll bet it will find the problem if you have one. If you did not open the attachment you may not have a problem.
