howdy zbrushcentral
my name is louis gonzalez. i am graduate from the art institute of washington dc with an animation major. currently i have been follwing up as much as possible on these forums and cgsociety.org to help me transistion from a 2D artist to a 3D artist. i am so grateful for all the brilliant artists that flock these online communities. so helpful and inspirational.
there’s a lot i dont know about making animation ready models, but i am learning fast from all the helpful tuts and forums.
heres a few recent works ive done to start off my 3D portfolio. hope ya dig.
comments and crits are always welcome and highly appreciated.
very cool style ,I like it
thank you very much! im very inspired by the style of team fortress 2 and jamie hewlett. i use to be a huge anime nerd… i gradually put some western influences. i dont feel there enough stylized games with good gameplay in the market nowadays. borderlands gameplay was a huge let down =/ but the visual style wasy pretty spiffy. thanks again.
I like the style a lot, I d like to see a full clothed character in this style
keep the updates coming.
Really like the stylized figures you’ve got here.
Awesome style! Very refreshing! I’m looking forward to seeing more from you :)
Awesome, I’m liking the shapes and silhouette your models create. Will any of these models be used or tested in an animation? Love to see some of them move around!
thanks micro. im working on a full clothed character right now. ill be posting him soon. workin the mesh in Modo and going to make sure i have the Uvs before importing into zbrush.
thanks paint guy and goldo_O.
there are alot of 2d artists that inspire me. www.fealasy.deviantart.com being one of them. very funky stuff. i imagine a beatboxer jammin out a sweet tune while i model. it helps to keep things fresh ;D
thank you janzen. unfortunately i can’t animate the busts without reworking the meshes around the mouths. the elf and boris’s mouths are overlapping all funkliy because of my amateurish ways. i learned my lesson with iris though. i reworked her mesh several times in modo and reprojected the rgb and sculpt information using the zproject brush. it was incredibly tedious… but her mesh is mostly cleaned up. Im now in the process of figuring out how to import UVs from an external program and applying them to a polypainted highpoly model in zbrush… so far im not doing so well. i have scott spencers character creation book and i have looked up tuts in the forum here, but i havent quite figured it out. is zproject usable to reproject polypaint to uv? im probably going to have to post a help thread in that forum soon if i cant find a solution.
Mainly i am concerned with Booga for animation. I plan on making some idle animations and some death animations for him as soon as I get these uvs into zbrush.
thanks again all!
oh also. if anyone is wondering, these are zbrush viewport renders with customized materials. havent done any external software renders yet.

]For those of you who were lookin forward to a full character in this style. hope ya dig. my first low poly model.

Howdy Louis! Love your worx; great concepts & sculpts/polypaints! Looking forward to seeing more
.
thanks Etcher!
hopefully i will be posting more uved worked such as this. I still havent created normal or bump maps with a uv model and need to get that under my belt. who knows, maybe I will even have the pleasure of doing this with the new uv master for zbrush!
thanks again.
