20 Minutes of Zbrush 2

This timelapse video shows the creation of a model while demonstrating a number of the new tools in Pixologic ZBrush 2.0. It starts by showing the new ZSphere tools available. Then the video focuses strictly on sculpting the resulting mesh using tools like the new Projection Master, the Smooth Brush, and the Pinch Brush. it finishes by showing the process of making a displacement map, and applying it back to the model. The end result is a model that is over 2.8 million polygons!

Nice one, will give it a whirl if the servers aren’t being hammered :+1:

As impressive as always, Mister Krol  You surelly are a inspiration for the likes of me

ambient-whisper Thanks¡¡¡ probably now you can share more of your experience working with ZB2¡¡¡ Is really appreciated.
Andreseloy

nice material, lightning and texture

Thank you ambient-whisper for the links and for the video.
BTW I really like your “Gloomy Forest ?” - posted under resent works in your post there.

i saw it.And I am really really overexcited.

I can’t get it to work. The mirror sites say file not found and the cgnetworks link gives me an error…says quicktime is missing a critical component on the server. Sigh.

I thought I was downloading the video from server3 - went to see your other art posts (Gloomy Forest?) and then posted here and as with Mentat7 I am getting a 404 on server3 and BTW server2 does not have anything to click to go to a download (hope this helps)

Well I downoladed and installed an alernative quicktime codec. Everything is working fine now. Very nice Martin. I enjoy watching other people work. I like the way you went about doing the mouth. You gave me some insights there. Thanks!

A couple of questions come to mind. You may not be able to answer just yet  but how many subd levels were you working at when you were detailing the face? What recording software did you use to record this with? Thanks in advance!!

[Edit] Just saw the whole thing…very cool!

Simply amazing tool!

Z2 is THE natural media for sculpting

Very nice modeling session Ambient-Whisper :+1:

Maybe this links works better ?
Seems a temporay server : don’t work now :qu:
Pilou

Hi ambient-whisper Congraulations for the video tutorial¡¡¡ Is possible to aumente the screen to see it better? or have you recorded this tutorial in zcript?
Thanks in advance
Andreseloy

HI AW,
I viewed your demonstration and was very impressed by the organised manner in which you presented your methods. Making vid tuts my self, I’d like to show my appriciation for your work and time and again the quality of your presentation!

On another note,I would be very interested to see displacment and normal map, rendering in other popular packages such as XSI…Maya…Maybe PRman?..using the Z2 maps?
Had quite a few problems in this department with the previous version!

I have a million other question for you , but I guess your in the same postion as me so I will leave them till later

thanks

Kircho

Thank you ambient-whisper

Hi all.
i’ve downloaded the Pilou links, but with my quick time doesn’t work.
Often i can’t be able to do this
Someone can help me with codec?
Thx in advance
Bye
Leo

for the 12 meg file
you will need the mpeg4 codec for quicktime ( it comes with quicktime when you download version 6.5 )

the link for french pilous is a divx file.
you need divx 5.1.1

ill go through this thread a bit later and answer the questions then

cheers!

Hi Kircho,

Like Ambient Whispher, I am one of the beta testers. I did a tutorial on using ZBrush 2 with Maya, mental ray and renderman renderers.

You can view it here at:
www.pixol.com.au

Click on the the appropriate tutorial link.

Hi Zendoftheworld
Thanks for the information and link¡¡
Yes, I agree with previous comments related the beta testers in the way you can guide with tutorials or script recorded session to see step by step the artist working “in vivo”, is definite a great jump in learning curve.Make short distance in adapting to this new wonderful software¡¡
Thanks alot¡
Andreseloy

ambient-whisper many thanks for posting this link to your demonstration. I’ve got a slow connection so I was wondering if after the quicktime movie at the CGTalk site has loaded can I save it to my desktop for persusing at my convenience or is it save protected?

Thought I’d ask now rather than find out the hard way.
